It’s that time of year when we have the opportunity to join with others around
the world as we celebrate Father’s Day. So to all the men – today we celebrate
you!
We don’t always understand you! Some of us never knew you, but one thing we
purpose in our hearts to do today is celebrate you.
Whether you are absent, present or distant, be it emotionally, physically or
mentally, today, we choose to forgive you and accept you, for who you are.
After all, isn’t that what we want you and others to do for us, accept us.
Appreciate and care for us not to judge us or criticize us but to recognize that we
are on our journey.
That means we don’t always get it right. So, father, for the day’s you weren’t
around and for the day’s you were, we celebrate and appreciate you, when you
understood us and even when you didn’t, we recognize that you’re on your
journey too.
Today, father, dad, pops, papa, whatever name we choose to use, we
acknowledge you and pray for you!
For those whose fathers are no longer here, thank God for him because if there
were no him, there would be no you.
Release him if you need to and thank God for stepping in and becoming your
father. For those who experience the joys of having a good man as a father,
celebrate him and let him know how much you love and cherish him.
Fathers we celebrate you and we appreciate you!
