Is Christ enough to guide believers in this modern life [in our advanced world] of technology and
science? In attacking the heresy among the believers at Colossae, Paul begins to give the
theological description of the sufficiency of Christ. Primarily, the fullness deity dwells in Christ
bodily, who is the head over every power and authority. In Christ then, is Devine authority that is
sovereign and trans-rational as indicated in Colossian 2: 9-10.
Up until this present time, science is still in dispute with; Creation and Miracles as established in
the holy bible. Instead, they have formed their counterfeit theories. Paul warns that believers are
not to be “taken captive” through shallow and empty philosophy. Such philosophy is based upon
human tradition and the basic principles of this world.
Only if we have not changed or renewed our mind from the days of high school when peer
pressure determined what we like and what we do not like. Now as adults we know that
succumbing to that peer pressure was a sign of immaturity. Equally so, if we give in to the reality
of pressure from science or philosophy, we demonstrate our immaturity and lack of recognition
of our identity in Jesus Christ.
Children of God, say with me “Christ is the head over every power and authority”
